Jenny Wee is not your usual mother-of- three. A Dean’s List student who graduated with first class honours in Microbiology, Jenny decided to establish a small nail bar in 2009. Her business unique selling point is hygiene and safety, which is scarce in Singapore’s nail industry.
Managing more than a dozen staffs is never an easy task, especially for a full-time mother. But Jenny is doing an extraordinary job even though she doesn’t have entrepreneurial background. After seven years, she now owns three beauty shops.
“One thing for certain after all these years, there are things that don’t change,” says Jenny. “We are providing hygienic and safe services, as well as building good relationships with our customers!”
Being such an active community volunteer, Jenny infuses the spirit to her businesses. Tresses by Nails & Brows, one of Jenny’s business, is no different. As the hair salon values relationships very much, the people there are trying their best to contribute in the community. Jenny encourages her staffs to regularly hold monthly social event, especially for the sick and old who deserves to look good.
“We get calls from clients who know of friends who are bedridden. We do our best to make them look at their best during the last part of their journey without expecting anything in return,” told Jenny.
In case you want to know her more, Jenny Wee appears on local TV for talk show on current affairs, as well as magazines and newspapers. She’s also often invited to give talks at IBM Singapore, Singapore Management University, primary schools and other local institutions.
